Tall Trees Circular and the Foresters Arms, Brockenhurst

This must-do circular trail begins in Brockenhurst, a well-connected town in the New Forest and a convenient base for exploring all that this region has to offer. Follow the route as it winds through the picturesque New Forest National Park, offering a heady mix of lush countryside and forest views. The highlight of the route is without a doubt Rhinefield Ornamental Drive, a popular landmark lined with towering cedar, fir and pine trees, many of which were planted in the 18th and 19th centuries. For an added treat, stop by the Rhinefield Arboretum, first established in the early 1800s by the 2nd Earl of Normanton. Covering around 200 acres, you can marvel at an impressive variety of trees from across the globe, some of which are among the tallest in Britain, such as giant sequoias and Douglas firs. Upon returning to Brockenhurst, get straight to the Foresters Arms for daily specials, home cooked meals and a great choice of ales, wines and soft drinks.
